From WAC-6 to Inter-Congress with the same desired outcome

As you are aware Jamaica, through the Archaeological Society of Jamaica, won the bit to host the sixth staging of the World Archaeological Congress (WAC-6) in Jamaica and extensive planning has been put into the preparations for this conference in May 2007.

Recently, the Executive of WAC has informed us that WAC-6 will not be accommodated before 2008. All the work done to date, the momentum acquired and the achievements in preparation for WAC-6 is now being channelled into an inter-congress at the same time and venue.

The theme for this WAC Inter-congress is wide, relevant, timely and stimulating so I am sure that we can all see ourselves identifying with it. All social and supporting activities remain as was previously planned for WAC-6 so you all will have a very rich, rewarding and memorable experience in Jamaica next year.
